In these financially troubled times, pricing has become more of an issue for consumers than ever before. This covers the entire retail and entertainment sectors, as people become more reticent to spend large amounts of money on things that they can probably do without. This is undoubtedly one reason why the pub industry is suffering, […]

BeerCast #32 – The Unrecorded. Our London-based BeerCasters Andy and Jess have a life outsider beer (unlike some of us) – they are also in a band called The Unrecorded. For our latest podcast they invited the other members of the band round for a random beer selection. Stay tuned for discussions on pork pies, Vitamin C tablets and egg filters…

BeerCast #31 – Norfolk Roadtrip. Another podcast recorded on location, our latest BeerCast takes place in an old cottage on the north Norfolk coast. After visiting Beers of Europe in King’s Lynn we assemble four local ales for our panle (plus a couple of boxfuls to take home). On the panel today are Richard, Shovels, Grooben, Andy and Jess. We recorded this in a creaking farmhouse, so the quality isn’t that great – apologies!

Gift packs are a relatively new phenomenon in the real ale world – multipacks of beers on a theme for easy purchase in supermarkets. Either several beers showcasing one producer, or a mixed pack giving a selction, they serve as a safe bet for people willing to go above the usual randomly-chosen bottles for that […]
