There are plenty of places or organisations that claim something as their own, and so like to be known as ’The home of…’. For example, St Andrews is the home of golf, Lord’s the home of cricket, and Bury the home of black pudding. The county of Suffolk prides itself on being both the home […]

BeerCast #36 – IPA Battle. Following our recent StoutOff, we retain the format of two British and two American beers – but turn our attention to IPA’s. This time the British entrants are equally as punchy as the American, and our panel of Richard, Shovels, MrB and Steve get to grips with a full-on hopfest.

1. Hopdaemon Skrimshander IPA (4.5%)
2. Goose Island India Pale Ale (5.9%)
3. Downton Chimera IPA (7.0%)
4. Stone Ruination IPA (7.7%)

BeerCast #35 – Not just any BeerCast. Our London panel take to the airwaves once again, having sourced some of the ‘own brand’ ales from Marks & Spencer. Unfortunately for an anchor, Andy was a touch far from the mic – but he is there!

1. M&S Buckinghamshire Ale (4.6%)
2. M&S Cornish IPA (5.0%)
3. M&S Yorkshire Bitter (4.6%)
4. M&S Organic Ale (6.0%)

Grooben checking the beer list Another day, another day at the beer festival. The beers were pretty much the same as the day before, so we fired straight into the […]
