“Please for the love of God don’t consume this filth.” “After taking a sip, my wife refused to kiss me.” “I needed Jager to cleanse my palate.” “Smells of tomato, pepper and asshole.” “There is absolutely no reason to drink this harsh, vile concoction of your own free will.” In the same category as paying […]

Roughly two months ago, our transatlantic cousins at the Aleheads published this great post on the best beer labels in America. At the time, it crossed our mind to reciprocate – but we were in the depths of our big beer protest month and had other matters to pursue. Now – and on the first […]

BeerCast #65 – MrB had his annual trip to France over the summer, and as ever returned with a carload of booze. Some of this was rare beer from local brasseries, so our 65th BeerCast finds us drinking four very different French beers. It also sees the return of our ‘Can you Picon it?’ feature. On the panel today – Richard, Grooben and MrB. Apologies for the levels on this one, it was recorded in MrB’s kitchen…

1. Brasserie des Râteliers La Johannique Blanche (5.0%)
2. Cervoiserie Lancelot Bonnets Rouge (5.5%)
3. Le Moulin de Saint-Martin Ambrée (6.5%)
4. Mor Braz La Bière Cidrée (4.0%)

The SIBA Bottled Beer awards were judged and announced yesterday, and just like last year the BeerCast were there, taking part. In actual fact, last year’s competition also took place this year – the epic winter of 2010 meaning December’s judging had to be abandoned and moved to January, so our SIBA branded blue pencils […]
