Continuing from last week
Monday 15th [to Sun 21st]
Stockbridge Tap beer festival
The Stockbridge Tap, 2-6 Raeburn Place
Further Information
The Stockbridge Tap continue their annual autumn beer festival, concentrating (albeit not exclusively) on the unfined beers of Scotland. Not filtering or dropping the yeast out gives beer a very different flavour profile – which there is only one way to find out! Follow the Tap on Twitter as they will be tweeting what’s pouring from the festival taps every day throughout the week.
New events
Monday 15th 8:00pm
A-Z of Beer at Appellation – C
Appellation Wines, 43 Dalry Road
Appellation Wines website tickets £10
Third up in Appellation Wines’ A-Z feature sees the team turn to the letter C. Craig and the guys at the Dalry branch will be rifling through terminology and beer styles starting with the that particular letter. So expect beers from California, the Czech Republic, China, Chile, Cambodia and many more besides! (might not be true).
Thursday 18th [to Sunday 21st]
Oakham Showcase
The Guildford Arms, 1 West Register St
Oakham Ales Twitter feed
Starting this Thursday (and continuing all weekend) – the Guildford Arms will be featuring beers from Peterborough’s Oakham Ales, one of the most consistent cask ale brewers in the country. On the bar – JHB, Green Devil, Citra and Bishops Farewell. The beers will all be on at £2.50 a pint, so get there early. Yes, you read that right; Oakham Green Devil, on cask, in Edinburgh, at £2.50 a pint.
(On Friday, Glasgow’s Drygate hosts the Craft Beer Rising festival, but this is the Edinburgh Beer Weekly, after all…)
The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
