So – what’s happening in the Edinburgh beer scene over the next seven days?
Unless you’ve been living in a cave, chances are you’ll know that sour beers are one of the current trends in British brewing. Riding the peak of the ‘craft’ wave, both soured and wild-yeast beers are growing in popularity. On Monday, Appellation Wines’ Dalry branch are hosting a tasting of some of these, so head along and pucker up.
The next evening, attention switches to the Cowgate, as BrewDog Edinburgh welcomes Bill Covaleski, co-founder and brewmaster at Victory Brewing Company. Head along early, as it’s sure to be busy – Bill will be chatting about his influences and brewing ethos, and on the bar will be some or all of Prima Pils, Summer Love Ale, Dirt Wolf Imperial IPA, Head Waters Pale Ale, Storm King Stout and Hop Devil IPA. Now, that is quite a lineup…
A while ago, Corstorphine featured on the pages of the Beer Weekly for the first time – as Winston’s Lounge hosted a tap takeover from Stewart Brewing. Well, this Wednesday they are hosting another event – a Meet the Brewer session with the team from Tryst. Head along and find out what they have been up to recently, and chat with the Tryst team.
The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
