So – what’s happening in the Edinburgh beer scene over the next seven days?

Monday 28th 8:00pm
Beer and Cheese at Appellation CB
Appellation Wines, Comely Bank Road
Appellation Wines website tickets £10

Beer and cheese is the classic food pairing (with the exception of dry roasted or a packet of crisps), and a couple of month’s ago Appellation ran an evening matching global beers with everyone’s favourite dessert course. Well, on Monday, cheese pairing returns to Appellation Comely Bank, so head down and see what new classic combos Craig and the team have come up with.

Tuesday 29th 7:30pm
Meet the Brewer – Hopcraft
The Hanging Bat, 133 Lothian Rd
Further Information tickets £25 available here

This month’s Hanging Bat Meet the Brewer involves one of the UK’s most under-rated producers – Hopcraft, the hop-forward sister outfit of Pixie Spring brewery, based in Wales. Powered by Gazza Prescott (ex of Steel City), Hopcraft beers aren’t often seen in these parts before (bar an event at the Stockbridge Tap last November), so head down to the Hanging Bat on Tuesday and catch up with the Hopcraft/Pixie Spring team – if nothing else than to try around ten of their beers that have been kegged for the first time, just for this event.

The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
