The Nicholson’s Autumn Beer Festival continues across the city, with a range of guest ales on the bars of their six Edinburgh pubs. Head down to the Kenilworth, Mitre, Conan Doyle, Greyfriars Bobby’s, Deacon Brodies or the Haymarket Bar (or a combination thereof), to get with the festival spirit. Pumpkin ales and spiced beers from across the Atlantic feature in this week’s Appellation Wines tasting, so head over to Dalry Road for 8pm and get your tastebuds around some of the best Autumnal treats from the States.

Remembrance Day festival

On Sunday the 10th, Scotland’s best dual-named pub is holding their traditional day-long Remembrance-Day beer festival. Stagg’s (aka the Volunteer Arms) in Musselburgh will be dispensing all kinds of top notch ales from the moment the doors are open. Follow their Twitter feed for a beer list – if the beers are announced early, I’ll update the EBW accordingly.
