So – what’s happening in the Edinburgh beer scene over the next seven days?
The Nicholson’s Autumn Beer Festival continues across the city, with a range of guest ales on the bars of their six Edinburgh pubs. Head down to the Kenilworth, Mitre, Conan Doyle, Greyfriars Bobby’s, Deacon Brodies or the Haymarket Bar (or a combination thereof), to get with the festival spirit. If you click on the link above, ‘Like’ Nicholson’s on Facebook, and print out the associated voucher, you can also get your first festival pint for only £1.
Pumpkin ales and spiced beers from across the Atlantic feature in this week’s Appellation Wines tasting, so head over to Dalry Road for 8pm and get your tastebuds around some of the best Autumnal treats from the States.

On Sunday the 10th, Scotland’s best dual-named pub is holding their traditional day-long Remembrance-Day beer festival. Stagg’s (aka the Volunteer Arms) in Musselburgh will be dispensing all kinds of top notch ales from the moment the doors are open. Follow their Twitter feed for a beer list – if the beers are announced early, I’ll update the EBW accordingly.
The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
