So – what’s happening in the Edinburgh beer scene over the next seven days?

Monday 12th 8:00pm
Lagers and Pilsners at Appellation Wines
Appellation Wines, 43 Dalry Road
Appellation Wines website tickets £10

Once again, this week’s beery highlight takes place at Appellation Wines – the Edinburgh Festival tends to mean pubs and bars are busy enough without having to stage events and soforth, but the weekly tastings continue unabated. Head along to Dalry for the latest Monday night event, as Ash and the team cool down with a selection of lagers and pilsners from around Europe and the World. Expect some old classics and new eye-openers.

Wednesday 14th 7:30pm
Meet the Distiller with Sipsmith’s
The Hanging Bat, 133 Lothian Rd
Further Information tickets £25

This month’s Meet the Brewer at the Hanging Bat isn’t a beer thing, and it doesn’t involve meeting any brewers. However, there is the fantastic opportunity to meet the people behind Sipsmith’s Gin. The event involved several samples of interesting things done with their gins – such as a Sloe Negroni – and a couple of bespoke beers (which is why it made the Beer Weekly), including a saison made with all ten ingredients used to formulate Sipsmith’s most famous product. Food will also be included – for tickets head here.

The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
