So – what’s happening in the Edinburgh beer scene over the next seven days?

Monday 3rd 8:00pm
Summer Beers at Appellation Wines
Appellation Wines, 43 Dalry Road
Appellation Wines website tickets £10

Summer is (in theory) just around the corner – at least, that’s what the calendar tells us. This Monday, Appellation Wines are devoting their weekly tasting to six beers perfect for the sunny, warm Scottish summer. Imperial stouts. Pale Ales, hoppy lagers – head down to Dalry and find the perfect beers to drink in the garden (or more likely the garage, listening to rain drumming off the patio).

Wednesday 5th 6:30pm
Beer and Cheese matching, with Innis & Gunn
Red Squirrel, 21 Lothian Road
Red Squirrel website Tickets £5 (email janec@fullerthomson.com)

The Red Squirrel have been holding a few beery events of late, which is great to see. The latest is set to take place on Wednesday, as Innis & Gunn bring their beers across from Glasgow to pair with some artisan cheese. On the bar, I&G Original, Winter Treacle Porter and their new Lager. To find out if these beers pair with Mellis’s finest – drop the Squirrel an email and sign up.

The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
