So – what’s happening in the Edinburgh beer scene over the next seven days?

Monday 18th
Vertical tasting – BrewDog Abstrakt 8:00pm
Appellation Wines Comely Bank, Comely Bank Rd
Appellation Wines website tickets £10

Appellation Wines opened their second location recently, on the corner of Comely Bank Road and Avenue. A mere stone’s throw from where the BeerCast was created – would that it have been open when I lived there. Anyway – they are having a similar range of events and tastings to the Dalry shop, and on Monday their first beer sampling session arrives. It promises to be a good one as well, as Ash leads all-comers through six of the most recent Abstrakt beers from BrewDog – from AB:07 to AB:12, in order of release.

Friday 22nd 7:00pm
Meet the brewer – Elixir Brewing Co
BrewDog Edinburgh, The Cowgate
Elixir website

This week’s MTB event takes place on Friday at BrewDog Edinburgh, as the West Australian Whirlwind Benjii Bullen arrives to introduce the latest Elixir offering. Co-founder Barry may well be in attendance as well, but the night will certainly feature their new kiwi-hopped black IPA Cuzzy Brew, along with several past Elixir treats in the bottle. Head down to the Cowgate and check them out!

The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
