So – what’s happening in the Edinburgh beer scene over the next seven days?

Thursday 3rd
Night of Good Beer
The Bow Bar, 80 West Bow
Further details

If you’ve recovered from self-induced Hogmanay madness, on Thursday the Bow Bar is hosting the sixth in their series of ‘Not an Event, just Good Beer’ nights. No fuss, no frills, simply a lineup of fantastic beers – Dark Star Critical Mass, Buxton American Rye and Rednik Stout, Raw Hop Chocolate, RedWillow Endless. Also, the night serves to showcase one of the most talked-about breweries to come out of Wales for a long time – Tiny Rebel Brewing Co. Three of their distinctively badged beers will be on offer – Dirty Stop Out, The Full Nelson, and Fubar.

Friday 4th 7:00pm
Fyne Ales launch ‘Wee Stoater’
The Malt Shovel, 11-15 Cockburn Street

Just in time for the weekend, Fyne Ales will be in town on Friday to launch their latest beer – Wee Stoater oatmeal stout. Any Fyne launch is worth attending, being our recently crowned brewery of the year – and an oatmeal stout is the perfect style for these damp, dreary January days. Head along to the Malt Shovel on Cockburn Street, meet the brewery team, and warm up.

The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
