Thursday 6th 7:30pm
Stewart Brewing’s 8th Birthday
Cloisters Bar, 26 Brougham St
Stewart Brewing website
This Thursday, Cloisters Bar are hosting a special celebration – Stewart Brewing have now been going for eight years, and are putting on their annual birthday bash. If you’ve been to previous Stewart parties, you’ll know they always produce a one-off beer for the occasion – which, this time, is Stewart’s 8 – an 8% Belgian style tripel. Head down to wish Steve, Jo and the team hearty congratulations, and to try the 8 and several other of their beers. As their new brewery is being constructed (hopefully ready for March), show your support and wish them many happy returns!
Saturday 8th 12pm
Christmas Films at the Cumberland
The Cumberland Bar, 1-3 Cumberland St
Facebook event page / Twitter feed £3/film
Everyone has their favourite Christmas film (if yours is Elf, for example, then you are correct) but have you ever watched a festive movie in a pub? The Cumberland are giving you that opportunity, as you can suggest favourites – such as Elf – to be screened by them on Sunday. Relax by the fire with a pint of something dark and warming, watching Elf, and forget about Christmas shopping. Head to the Facebook page above for further details. Oh, and good news! I saw a dog today!
EDIT
Since writing that paragraph, the films have been revealed. They are The Snowman (12pm), Elf (1:30pm) – excellent, Miracle on 34th Street (3:30pm), Planes Trains & Automobiles (6:00pm)
The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
