So – what’s happening in the Edinburgh beer scene over the next seven days?

Monday 17th [to Sunday 23rd-ish]
Stockbridge Tap Beer Festival
The Stockbridge Tap, 2-6 Raeburn Place
Twitter feed / Facebook page

Last week, the waiting ended for the launch one of Edinburgh’s most hotly-awaited beer festivals – the annual beery shindig at the Stockbridge Tap. Landlord Archie has assembled a frighteningly good beer list – which you can see in full as part of our preview. The event will run for the whole of this week, until all of the casks are gone, so get down and do your part! Also, experience one of Edinburgh’s biggest secrets – the best burger in town (beef and chorizo).

Monday 17th
Meet the Brewer
David Macbeth Moir, Bridge St, Musselburgh
Website

The David Macbeth Moir is also still running a beer festival over from last week – this one devoted to Stewart Brewing. As well as having the beers on offer, on Monday night the brewers will be in attendance – so head down to Bridge Street in Musselburgh and ask them first-hand what really goes on out at Loanhead.

Saturday 22nd 3pm-7pm
Great Grog Bottled Beer Fest
Café Camino, Little King Street
Website, tickets £7

Great Grog first opened their doors in 1999 – and their emphasis on beer has steadily increased over the years. Saturday sees the return of their bottled beer festival, held in the hall of Café Camino – the relaxed lunchspace associated with St Mary’s Cathedral. Tickets are available in advance from Great Grog on Dalkeith Road, or on the day at the festival itself. Head along and try all kinds of beers from Scottish producers – ten of whom will be in attendance, and those from further afield.

The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
