Wednesday 5th 7:00pm
IBD Homebrew Competition Winners
Holyrood 9A, Holyrood Rd
Further Details
This Wednesday the Holyrood 9A are hosting the two champions of this year’s Institute of Brewing and Distilling’s Scottish homebrew competition. The winning entries were chosen by a panel of judges, who critiqued all the beers that were submitted. Eventually, two were chosen to be brewed commercially – Impale IPA (entered by Ed Young) was produced by Williams Brothers, and Zombier (Jake Griffin and Chris Lewis) by Fyne Ales. Head down to try them both, meet the finalists in person, and enjoy some other beers from the two breweries involved.
Friday 7th
Stewart Brewing tasting
The Dalriada, 77 Promenade
Website
On Friday, ease into the weekend by the seaside, as the Dalriada hosts a tasting of the beers from Stewart Brewing. The Joppa/Portobello pub has had Stewart beers on regularly for several years now – on Friday the attention turns to some of the newer lines such as Radical Road, Coconut Porter and the Stewart Hefeweizen. If the weather co-operates, sit outside and look for seals…
