The Bow Bar Summer beer festival is in full swing this week, running right up until Sunday. Their historic Aitken tall founts will be white-hot, pouring beers from Fyne Ales, Alechemy, Tempest amongst others. Alongside the Scottish beers will be offerings from England and a few great keg beers – including the 10% Brodies Simcoe for Breakfast.
Friday 27th [to Sunday 29th]
Real Al Festival George & Abbotsford, High Street, Melrose
George & Abbotsford website
Not exactly in Edinburgh, of course, but this coming weekend sees a real ale festival at the George & Abbotsford Hotel in Melrose. Thirty (ish) miles from the city, the picturesque borders town makes for a decent day out – particularly when combined with a nice Sunday lunch and some good beer. Two provisos to that, though – requiring a designated driver, and some good weather.
The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
