So – what’s happening in the Edinburgh beer scene over the next seven days?

Thursday 5th 7:00pm
Fronteras Tasting
Fiddler’s Elbow, Picardy Place
Further details, tickets £20

It’s inescapable, but the Edinburgh Festival is just around the corner. As part of the warm up to their event, Fronteiras Theatre Lab are hosting a fund-raising drinks night on Thursday at the Fiddler’s Elbow. Their festival show is three short plays from different countries, so the drinks on offer are the same – Australian wine, Scottish gin and Norwegian beer. If this means Nøgne Ø – then that can only be a good thing.

Friday 6th – Sunday 8th
Taste of Edinburgh
The Meadows
Taste website, tickets £14 on door

Taste of Edinburgh is also back this coming weekend, and although predominantly for foodies – there are also plenty of things to interest drinkies. This year, an impressive eight breweries will be in attendance to showcase their products – Arran, BrewDog, Caledonian, Stewart, Innis & Gunn, WEST, Sulwath and (ahem) Molson Coors. Head on down to the sunny Meadows and chat to the reps about their breweries, future products – and help yourself to as many free samples as you can get away with…

The Edinburgh Beer Weekly will be published every Sunday here on the BeerCast. If you have an event in or around the city that you’d like to feature – please get in touch at the usual email address. Cheers!
