After the refinement of classical Bruges (or Brugge as it’s referred to when you’re there), we travelled the short distance inland to Brussels. There are even more beer opportunities here, as befits a major European city with a pretty rich history. We visited the Cantillon Brewery (see previous post), and also several bars and cafés […]

BeerCast #37 – Gone Bananas. We’re not sure if there’s ever been a banana-themed beer podcast on the internet before – but now there is. Our panel sample two banana beers and one that apparently has notes of the fruit in evidence. The other beer is totally random. Maybe that’s why there aren’t many podcasts themed around the bendy yellow fruit…on the panel today – Richard, Shovels, Andy and Jess.

1. White Horse Dragon Hill (4.1%)
2. Williams Bros Red (4.5%)
3. Wells Banana Bread Beer (5.2%)
4. Mongozo Banana (4.5%)

BeerCast #6 – Belgian Sauce. There’s just too much to explore in the world of Belgian beer to limit it to just one podcast. So our 6th BeerCast stays with the Belgian theme, as our panel tackle four more fascinating beers from Flanders and Wallonia. On the panel today with Richard and Shovels, a debut for BeerCaster John.

1. Früli Strawberry (4.1%)
2. Rodenbach Grand Cru (6.0%)
3. Delirium Tremens (8.5%)
4. Trappistes Rochefort 10° (11.3%)
